“A man has joy in giving an appropriate answer, And how good and delightful is a word spoken at the right moment – how good it is!” Proverbs 15:23 (AMP)
Recently, I experienced a first-hand reminder of the reality found within this passage.
While attending a service at my church, my pastor was teaching about the spiritual Gift of Encouragement (Romans 12). After the message, there was a time of “activation,” which encouraged parishioners to begin stirring up this gift within the congregation. As people began encouraging those around them, I felt The Lord “highlight” a few individuals for me to encourage. While I was engaged in the process, I was not expecting someone to encourage me, as I was focused on the joyous task at hand.
Suddenly, I was approached by one of the elders of the Church. He beckoned me to sit beside him, and he began to share with me. While the prophetic word of encouragement was short in length, its impact was profound.
The word was simply this: “This time, you WILL be promoted.”
As the tears began to flow, I realized that this man did not know my story.
He had no idea that I journeyed through depression, hopelessness, homelessness, and suicide. He had no idea that I watched my dream “promotion” in the writing field die in front of my very eyes. He also had no idea that God desires to redeem those Stolen Years through opening the doors for me to write in Wales for The Message Trust!
As I related a portion of my story to him, I was overwhelmed at the magnitude of what I had just experienced. The Lord knew exactly what I needed to hear in order to enter victoriously into the last two months before I move to Wales.
Even though I still do not know where all of the provision will come from, I am confident that this is the season of restoration. The adversary of my soul is going to pay with blood. This is the moment in history where I am preparing to step forward into new facets of the assignments of God for my life. My promotion is at hand, and boy, how sweet it is!
